Do you snore? Does your spouse worry because she/he hears you stop breathing during the night? Is your neck size (men) greater than 17 inches? You may possibly have sleep apnea.
The true extent of sleep apnea can only be measured in a sleep clinic. And for some time, the only treatment for sleep apnea has been a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine. Many people find these machines difficult to wear and annoying to maintain. There are alternatives.
Mild cases can often be treated with a mouthguard that pulls your jaw forward. I use one myself and it works rather well. It decreases my snoring and I wake up refreshed. I have a lot of first hand experience on the subject.
Let’s talk about what might be appropriate treatment for you.
